Prairie Bluf is one of my very favorite courses in the Chicago area. Always in good shape, it is a challenge to better golfers (I play to a + index) but from forward tees very fair for average to high index golfers. No trees with the exception of one hole where a group of trees block almost the entire fairway and a real challenge to navigate. Without trees, wind is the equalizer and it is often quite windy but generous fairways/rough don't penalize errant shots too severely because you can find it and hit it again on most holes. Greens roll true and are usually mid speed.
One of the most beautiful courses in the area, with plenty of heather and wildlife from Monarch butterflies to crains and soaring hawks. Easy course to walk.
Would travel: 30-60 Miles, Not Vacation Worthy
Bottom line: I would play again, Better than average course for the area, Fair priced based on quality and competitive area pricing, Ranks with the best in this price level
Condition of Course, Price, Difficulty, Ambiance, Layout, No Houses on Course
